Adelaide United coach Guillermo Amor has praised teenage goalkeeper Daniel Margush for his promising display in Saturday night’s 2-1 defeat to Melbourne Victory.
The 19-year-old replaced John Hall as Eugene Galekovic’s deputy at AAMI Park and acquitted himself well, making two especially fine saves from Marco Rojas and James Troisi.

With Galekovic a “day-to-day” prospect according to Amor, there is a chance Margush could keep his place for Adelaide’s AFC Champions League assignment in China on Wednesday night.
“Daniel today showed he is prepared to play in this league,” Amor said.
“John played the last games and was good.
“They are two young players and they are good goalkeepers. We could play one or the other.
“The important thing is we have confidence in both.”
While they struggled to regularly threaten Victory, the bottom-placed Reds did manage to snatch a late consolation goal when fullback Tarek Elrich lashed in a sweet 90th minute strike.
Amor commended his players’ individual performances and made special mention of the side’s young trio.
“The players today played very well,” the Spaniard said.
“Daniel Margush, Ben Warland – the centre-back – and Riley McGree. We played at a very good level today.”
