Reds defender sidelined with hip injury

Adelaide United will be without Italian Iacopo La Rocca for an extended period after the club confirmed the defender has suffered a serious hip injury.

La Rocca was forced off during the club’s Round 19 match against Perth Glory on Friday evening at Coopers Stadium. 

The Italian has sustained a Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL) tendon injury to his hip, which was caused by a significant collision during the first-half of the match. 

It is expected that La Rocca will be sidelined for six weeks with the injury. 

Adelaide play host to Newcastle Jets at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.
