After their heavy loss in the Sunshine State on Sunday, Adelaide United boss Gui Amor says he’s sharpening his focus towards turning the Reds’ stuttering season around.
After their maiden win of the campaign in Round 9, the champions were brought back down to earth with a thud on Sunday as they lost 4-0 to Brisbane Roar.

“My job is to recover this situation as soon as possible. We want to win quickly and the focus now is to recover the players and prepare well for the game in Newcastle on Friday and to win this game. This is my thoughts.
“I’m not thinking of next year, or even Christmas. I’m thinking of the next training and to be with the group to prepare for the next game and to win,” he said after the game.
Despite the severity of the defeat at Suncorp Stadium, the Reds were far from disgraced and had their opportunities to get a positive result.
They had more shots at goal than Roar, enjoyed more possession and won a staggering 19 corners to the hosts three.
“We controlled on the numbers and statistics but that’s not the most important. Sometimes you don’t have the ball and win 1-0,” a frustrated Amor said.
“We had all the corners, had more shots than them, we had more possession but the final result is different.
“We played a good game, the result is negative but the team was good…the attitude is very good and the players gave everything,” the Spanish great added.
“It’s true that in some moments a different action could change the game. We had two or three good chances and didn’t score, they arrived one time and its 1-0.
“This is football sometimes…we can lose but 4-0 for me is too much.”
