Matt Sim was on the winning side as Cape Town City claimed their maiden piece of silverware at the expense of Jeremy Brockie and Michael Boxall’s side in South Africa overnight.
Cape Town City were crowned 2016 Telkom Knockout champions after stunning SuperSport United 2-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Aubrey Ngoma opened the scoring for the Mother City side in the first-half, before Kingston Nkhatha levelled matters for Matsatsantsa midway through the second, but Judas Moseamedi netted the winning goal for the Cape Town side.
The win ensured former Central Coast Mariners and Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Matt Sim, who played the final nine minutes, won the first trophy of his career.
