Brisbane boss John Aloisi insists Roar must show greater attacking intent after being outplayed for large parts of Friday night’s 1-1 draw with Western Sydney.
The visitors opened the scoring at Spotless Stadium through Jamie Maclaren but struggled to push on following the striker’s penalty as Wanderers piled on 19 shots.

“The positive is when you don’t play so well and you’re still getting results that shows good character from the team and from the players,” Aloisi told Fox Sports.
“The negative is we need to be braver when we’ve got the ball as well and (we need to) want the ball.
“(It’s) positive we got a point (but) not ideal.”
Traditionally dominant in possession, Brisbane found it tough to impose themselves for a second straight week after escaping with a point in last round’s home draw with Sydney FC.
Aloisi said it wasn’t the plan to drop as deep as his side did against the seventh-placed Wanderers.
“Our intention was to press them high, our intention was to make it difficult for them to play out,” he said.
“But you have to give credit to Wanderers. When we did do it they were finding solutions and we didn’t do it well enough.
“All in all it wasn’t what we were planning to do during the week, but that’s something we have to make sure we work harder on.”
