Newcastle Jets attacker Aleksandr Kokko will undergo surgery this morning after scans on Sunday night confirmed that the Finnish attacker had fractured his jaw.
Kokko suffered the injury in the 88th minute of Sunday’s 1-1 F3 Derby draw with Central Coast Mariners at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Mariners attacker Josh Bingham connected with Kokko in the penalty area late in the game.
Mark Jones’ squad has been beset by injuries in the early part of the season with captain Nigel Boogaard, defenders Lachlan Jackson and Daniel Mullen and goalkeeper Ben Kennedy all sidelined for extended periods.
