Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque feels he’s never been part of a more dominant Sky Blues side than the one currently dominating Hyundai A-League season 2016/17.
The Sky Blues made it a perfect six-from-six for the campaign with Sunday’s 4-1 rout of Perth Glory at Allianz Stadium.

Brosque, playing in his 150th game for the club, scored the final goal on a record-breaking day for Sydney FC, who have now scored the most goals (17) in the opening six rounds of a season.
And while the 33-year-old skipper was a part of the double-winning Sky Blues squad from 2010, he believes this current crop is performing even better.
“You go through pre-season hoping you will get a start like this but in the A-League it’s that tough that anyone can beat anyone on the day.
“You see so far teams have been taking points off each other which makes it even more special what we have done. Six games that we’ve won in a row, the FFA Cup as well making the final, it’s not easy.
“Every week if you aren’t as close to your best as possible you’re not going to win.
“I’ve never seen a team at Sydney since I’ve been here start this way, play this way and dominate the way we have.
“But there’s a long way to go. We’re not getting carried away because we started well last year and then we fell away. We need to maintain what we’re doing,” Brosque said.
Despite being slow out of the blocks, Sydney took control at Allianz Stadium once Milos Ninkovic capitalised on a defensive error to give the home side the lead on 14 minutes.
Ninkovic was the star of the show, finishing with a brace as well as setting up Bobo’s goal just before half-time.
“He’s a fantastic player but the best part about him is he’s just a fantastic guy,” coach Graham Arnold said of his in-form Serbian playmaker.
“Nothing is too hard for him he just wants to work hard, he wants to win and he plays every game with a smile on his face.
“You only see parts of what he can do. If he relaxed completely and did in games what he does at training, it’s frightening. He’s such a quality player and we’re very happy to have him here at the club.”
The Sky Blues are now just one win away from equalling the best start to a Hyundai A-League season of seven wins, done by Melbourne Victory in season 2006/07.
They can equal the record by disposing of Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday night.
“For me the first five games have been won through the physical side of it, our fitness,” Arnold said.
“Today I wanted us to win it through our football as well as the fitness side, and I think we did that.
“I’m looking forward to the day of a 90 minute performance. We’ve had a great start, I thought we were fantastic tonight for 60 minutes. I don’t think they [Glory] had a shot on target in 90 minutes and I think we could have had even more.”
