Football Federation Australia (FFA) and NAB, together with Sydney FC are proud to announce Josh Brillante as the November nominee for the Hyundai A-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Award.
The nomination is Brillante’s second nomination for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award having been nominated in February 2014 when he was with the Newcastle Jets.
Brillante has had an outstanding Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season so far starting in all nine matches and scoring a brilliant goal against Brisbane Roar FC in Round 7.

The 23 year old is the second Sydney FC player to be nominated for the Hyundai A-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Award following his teammate and flatmate Brandon O’Neill being announced as the nominee for October.
“It’s an honour to be considered and was also great to see my team mate Brandon nominated last month,” said Brillante.
“I think these nominations arise off the back of all round team performances so all of our players definitely need to be acknowledged.
“Also congratulations to Remy on her award from the Sydney FC women’s team.”
The Hyundai A-League NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 will be announced at the Dolan Warren Awards Night.
National Australia Bank’s General Manager of Client Experience, Kieren Perkins said he is delighted to see the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award continue to unearth the stars of tomorrow.
“We congratulate Josh on his nomination and look forward to watching his development and growth on the football field in the years to come,” said Mr Perkins.
“We are also pleased to recognise Josh’s nominated junior club, Across the Waves FC in Bundaberg, Queensland and hope that our support will help the club to continue developing the game at a local grassroots level.”
NAB has generously donated a $1,500 NAB Club Recognition Award to Josh’s nominated junior club, which includes a range of equipment along with a financial reward.
The overall winner of the Hyundai A-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Award will receive a $10,000 personal investment portfolio, along with a NAB Private Client Manager to assist with a range of banking and financial services.
“As a supporter of the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award, we are proud to play an important role in identifying and rewarding the future stars of the game. Who knows, we may even see some of the nominees donning the boots for the Socceroos in the future,” Mr Perkins continued.
Each month representatives from the FFA Technical department vote on a 3-2-1 basis for the most outstanding U-23 players in the Hyundai A-League during that period.
