Defender Luke DeVere warned Brisbane Roar is only just getting started after they made it back-to-back wins with victory over Perth Glory on Sunday.
Goals in either half from Jamie Maclaren – his first of the campaign – and substitute Brandon Borrello, handed Roar a 2-1 win and moved them up to fourth on the Hyundai A-League ladder.
After picking up just one point from the opening two rounds, John Aloisi’s troops have looked strong over the last fortnight and appear to be finding their best form.

Asked if that was his side’s best display of the season so far, DeVere told Fox Sports: “Yeah I think so. In terms of what we were doing on the ball, we created lot of opportunities and had some good patterns.”
“Someone like Brett Holman has only come in late in the pre-season and he’s still finding his feet with a lot of the other players.
“We’re only going to get better from here. The quality of players we have going forward, we’re going to be a real threat to a lot of teams.”
Roar dominated the first half and lead 1-0 at the break from Maclaren’s strike only for Glory to equalise nine minutes into the second half via Nebojsa Marinkovic.
But the introduction of Borrello shifted the momentum of the match back in favour of Roar and the young winger scored an excellent winner with 15 minutes to go.
“The guys that came on helped us,” skipper Matt McKay admitted.
“But it’s all about completing a performance and we didn’t do that today.
“We had some good signs, especially in that first half, and if we can carry that into next week it will be a lot better.
“It’s good signs,” McKay added when asked about the depth at the club.
“You need that at a club to be successful and if we can continue to push players we’ll get better.”
Roar has a short turnaround until their next match, with Melbourne City coming to Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
