Former Newcastle Jets defender Taylor Regan has parted ways with Malaysian club Negeri Sembilan and has hinted a return to Australia could be on the cards.
The 27-year-old confirmed on Twitter that he would not be extending his stay in the country’s second-tier competition, penning a letter to thank the club’s fans for their support.
Regan joined Negeri in December 2015 and was quickly appointed the club’s captain, leading the side to fifth spot in the Malaysian Premier League this season with one game to go.
Regan is expecting a child with his partner back in Australia which has fueled talk of the defender returning home to the Hyundai A-League.
The central defender has been linked with a move to Champions Adelaide United, who are short on options at the back following an ACL injury to Jordan Elsey.
Adelaide open the campaign on Sunday away to Regan’s former club Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium.
