The most important part with Fantasy is selecting your squad.

To start, you will be given a salary cap of $3million to assemble your team of 15 players, which is made up of two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards.

You will need to select which players you want in your starting 11 prior to the start of each round, with these players able to score points for your team.

What formation can I have?

You can select any formation you like providing there is one goalkeeper, a minimum of three-maximum five defenders, min three-max five midfielders and min one-max three forwards.

That means you can have any formation from 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 4-5-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-4-1, 5-3-2.

How many trades can I make?

Prior to the start of the Hyundai A-League season, you are able to change your squad as many times as you like.

But after round 1 there’s a limit of just two trades per week, with a total of 34 allowed for the entire season.

Trades are only allowed if the change you are trying to make doesn’t see you exceed your salary cap.

What will make up my team’s score?

Only the starting 11 players in your squad will be able to score points that contribute to your team total.

If a player in your starting 11 doesn’t feature, your Substitutes act as automatic emergencies, and will have their score added.

Choosing your captain is crucial, with his points earned doubled for that week. You can also select a vice-captain, whose points will be doubled if your selected captain doesn’t play that weekend.

How do I score points?

Points are accumulated for each player for things like scoring a goal, making an assist, playing for up 60 minutes and/or beyond 60 minutes, for a clean sheet and also for four or more saves by a goalkeeper.

Can a player lose points?

The simple answer is yes.

Players will lose points to their score for things like missing a penalty, scoring an own goal, receiving yellow or red cards or scoring an own goal.

How do I join a league?

You can either set up a private league for you and your mates or be involved in a public one.

There are no limits to how many leagues you can join, although you can only create up to five different leagues.

There are finals for Fantasy A-League, made up of 8 teams which commence from round 25 of the Hyundai A-league season.
