Former Newcastle Jets keeper Mark Birighitti has penned a farewell letter to the Novocastrian faithful following his signing with EPL club Swansea City.
Transfer news: A-League keeper signs for EPL club
As you are all aware, I have signed a two-year deal with Swansea City AFC. I feel honoured to have signed at this club and couldn’t have done it without the support of everyone in Newcastle.
It’s been a long journey to get to this position and I am very grateful to everyone involved at the Newcastle Jets, the members, supporters, fans and close friends.
I would like to thank you for all your support and I extend my sincere appreciation to Jess [Vanstrattan], Scott [Miller] and JP [Jean-Paul de Marigny] who turned my whole world around by helping me regain my confidence and head in the direction of my dream. I dedicate this next chapter in my journey to Jess. He has been my strength and mentor for the last 12 months and I don’t have the words strong enough to thank him.
I’m happy to see that the Newcastle Jets are heading in a positive direction with the Ledman Group taking over the club and I wish you all the best of luck for next season.
It has been an amazing journey and I look forward to the next two years playing for Swansea City AFC.
Mark Birighitti
