Live streaming a Jets youth match on a Chinese-based App and a Chinese version of Newcastle’s Hyundai A-League website are just two initiatives set to take place under the club’s new Chinese owners.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Chinese businessman Martin Lee’s Ledman Group had purchased Hyundai A-League club Newcastle Jets.

The Newcastle Herald reported on Friday that the the new owners are hoping to use their ‘12th Man app’ – launched in China last year – to livestream tonight’s (Fri) game between the Jets youth team and Shandong Luneng’s under-19s.

With over 100,000 subscribers to the company’s sports app, it shows the reach the Lee has and the huge opportunities to expand the club;s fan base.
Lee has immersed himself in the Jets since deciding he wanted to purchase the club, with his vision to make the club number one Chinese fans both in Australia and China.
The Jets are set to tour China in August while it’s understood the Ledman Group are already working on a Chinese version of the Jets website.
Lee has also invited FFA CEO David Gallop to speak in China in early July.
