Melbourne Victory’s PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria captain Joey Katebian will play his final game for the club this weekend.
Katebian will leave Victory to pursue football opportunities abroad, bringing to an end a successful stint with the club’s youth program.
The 20-year-old made one Hyundai A-League appearance for Victory, coming on as a substitute in the Round 7 game against Central Coast Mariners in 2015/16.
Katebian was a prolific goalscorer with the club’s NPL and Foxtel National Youth League (NYL) teams.
After a successful PS4 NPL 1 campaign with Bulleen Lions in 2014, he joined Victory for the 2014/15 NYL season.
In the 2015 NPL campaign he scored 33 goals, winning Football Federation Victoria’s Players’ Player of the Year and Golden Boot awards.
Katebian also represented Victory in the most recent NYL season, winning another Golden Boot award and the Victory Youth Medal.
He has started brightly in the current NPL season, scoring eight goals in 12 appearances.
Katebian’s final game for the club will be against Port Melbourne Sharks on Sunday, June 5 at Epping Stadium.
