Reigning Hyundai A-League champions Adelaide United have dismissed speculation linking Tarek Elrich with a move away from the club.
Reports have suggested the defender was set to leave Adelaide for a rival A-League club during the off-season but the Reds have this afternoon refuted those suggestions.
In a statement on the club’s website General Manager of Football Operations, Ante Kovacevic, said: “The rumours surrounding Tarek’s future at Adelaide United are all false.
“Tarek is a very important and valued member of our football club who has the utmost respect of his teammates, coaches, the Adelaide United Board, and staff.
“We are not going to let a player of Tarek’s quality and character leave us and nor does he want to.”
Elrich still has two years remaining on his current contract with Adelaide United.
