Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe is hoping for a repeat of his team’s successful road double last month as he prepares his men for another trip across the Tasman.
Glory recorded back-to-back away wins against Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC, having stayed in New Zealand for an extra few days before flying back to Australia to take on the Sky Blues.
Lowe’s men face Wellington at Westpac Stadium next Sunday before backing up against the Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium the following Saturday.
Glory will settle in Newcastle immediately after their clash with the Phoenix and Lowe is intent on maintaining a winning formula on the road.

“It was a great chance to get away…I think we won both games, so if we do anything like that this time, we’ll have a happy bunch in the changing room,” Lowe said.
“It was a super trip…Krisztian (Vadocz) had just arrived and a few of the other boys had just come in.”
Glory is on high after easily disposing of a nine-man Central Coast 4-0 at nib Stadium on Saturday night. It was the club’s seventh win from their past eight matches.
Lowe’s side sits fifth on the Hyundai A-League table and is firmly in the frame for a finals berth – and possibly a top-two finish if they win all four of their remaining matches and other results go their way.
Star winger Diego Castro should be fit for the road double to Wellington and Newcastle despite being substituted in the 60th minute against the Mariners.
“Really early on he had a bit of a skirmish with Garcia and turned his ankle,” Lowe said,
“We weren’t sure he was going to come out second half, but he wanted to and as soon as we got the second (goal) we wanted to protect him.
“Obviously he wasn’t happy because he wants to play, but I think there’s a bigger picture.”
