Novillo stood down by City

Melbourne City have suspended forward Harry Novillo for two matches following an investigation into an incident that resulted in the 24-year-old being arrested by police early on Tuesday morning.

The club released a statement saying that despite no criminal charges being laid Novillo was found to have breached FFA’s National Code of Conduct.

“Specifically that the player failed to uphold professional standards off the field, failed to behave in a manner that promotes the highest standards of integrity and the player failed to properly explain his absence from a club training session,” the statement read.

Melbourne City have subsequently imposed the maximum sanction available being a two match suspension and a fine equating to 50% of one week’s wages.
