Defender Corey Brown says Brisbane well and truly have their mojo back after dismantling the Central Coast at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Brisbane put four past the Mariners without conceding to make it five wins in a row against the Gosford outfit and maintain pressure on the Wanderers at the league’s summit.
The three points makes it back-to-back wins on the bounce for Brisbane, having previously leaked four goals to Adelaide and Victory, leading many to question their title credentials.

“Last week was a really important win away to Sydney,” Brown told ABC radio post match. “Not many people go to Sydney and win 3-1.
“It was a great three points and we’re just building on that. Today was an even better win.
“Top of the table as it stands, we’ll see how Western Sydney and Melbourne Victory play but we’re enjoying our football at the moment and hopefully it continues.”
Roar’s revived tilt at the Premiership has coincided with the return of their Olyroos from a disappointing campaign at the AFC U-23 Championship.
While Brown acknowledged the presence of Jamie Maclaren, Brandon Borrello and Jack Donachie had been missed the 22-year-old said it has taken a team effort to get Roar’s season back on track.
“They (the Olyroos) make a big difference. It’s not everything. We’ve been working on a few things after the Adelaide loss,” said Brown.
“We’ve worked on being more desperate in both boxes, defending and attacking. I think we’ve shown that the last two games.”
Despite having Shane Stefanutto back from injury John Aloisi decided to stick with the backline that got the job done against the Sky Blues last weekend.
Brown was grateful for the chance to impress on the flanks once again and said competition across the park was spurring the squad on.
“I’m definitely trying to replay the faith that the boss has given me,” said Brown.
“Hopefully we can keep winning and Jack (Hingert) and I can both start and keep playing.
“We’re trying to build a fortress here. We want to win all our home games and Newcastle will be no different next week.”
