Former Socceroo David Carney has played his last game for the Newcastle Jets after negotiating a release from his contract with the club.
The club released a statement today stating that it had agreed to Carney’s request for a release as retaining the attacker “is no longer in the club’s best interests”.
Carney joined Newcastle Jets two years ago and played 37 Hyundai A-League matches for the club, scoring three goals.
