Melbourne City have announced midfielder Erik Paartalu has been released to pursue an opportunity in South Korea’s K-League.
Paartalu, 29, played 40 matches for City across one and a half seasons, after joining the club ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
A constant presence at set pieces, Paartalu netted seven goals in the Hyundai A-League, including four in 14 appearances during the 2015/16 campaign.
Joining Melbourne City after spells in Asian football with Thai Premier League outfit Muangthong United FC and Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda, Paartalu will depart for the Korea Republic on Wednesday.
Melbourne City FC Head Coach John van’t Schip wished Paartalu the best for his new opportunity overseas.
“I’m sure the fans and members will join me in wishing Erik all the best for the next chapter in his career, as he has been a great contributor to the club.”
