One to watch: Mitchell Oxborrow (Perth Glory)

Glory boss Kenny Lowe has unearthed some exceptional young talent this season but none better or more consistent than Oxborrow.

The versatile 20-year-old is enjoying a breakout campaign in the Hyundai A-League and has been a key figure in the club’s strong run of form.

Oxborrow’s composure on the ball, balance and ability to win possession in the middle of the ark has been a feature of his season so far.

And how about his sweet left foot!

The Wanderers found out first-hand just how good it is with his stunning goal at nib Stadium in round 11.

Mitchell Oxborrow.

Standing over a free-kick more than 30 yards from goal, Oxborrow showed great confidence to unleash a powerful, swerving shot which nestled beautifully into the top corner of the net.

A simply incredible strike and not a bad way to score your first A-League goal!

Born in the UK, Oxborrow started his Aussie career with the Newcastle Jets in 2012, and made six A-League appearances in two seasons in the Hunter.

He moved to Perth Glory last year and is now enjoying a regular run in Lowe’s side making 13 appearances this season.

And his stats are impressive. Oxborrow has three assists, made 292 passes at more than 76 percent accuracy, with 47 ball recoveries and 20 interceptions.

It’s why he’s becoming a very valuable player at Glory and one to watch in the NAB Young Footballer of the Year race.
