Former Adelaide United striker Sergio van Dijk has distanced himself from a return to the Hyundai A-League.
It was reported this week that Van Dijk was set to sign for the Reds for the 2016 AFC Champions League, although Adelaide would have to release one of their five foreigners to bring the forward into their A-League squad.
Van Dijk was at Coopers Stadium for Adelaide’s 3-1 win over Central Coast Mariners on Saturday.
But speaking to Goal Thailand this week, the 33-year-old insisted he is considering a number of options.
“Nothing decided yet,” Van Dijk said.
“I’m here to talk first. I’m also still looking for a club in China, Malaysia, Thailand or Japan.
“You never know what happens in football.”
In just over four seasons in the A-League, Van Dijk scored 50 goals during his time at Brisbane Roar and Adelaide.
The Dutch-born striker took up Indonesian citizenship to play for country of his grandparents’ birth and he made his debut for Indonesia in 2013.
Since leaving Adelaide, Van Dijk has played in Indonesia, Iran and Thailand.
Van Dijk has been on the books of Thai Premier League club Suphanburi since June 2014.
Adelaide have also been heavily linked with Socceroos forward James Troisi during the January transfer window.
