Newcastle Jets Youth squad suffered a 4-3 defeat in the nation’s capital on Sunday, giving up an early two-goal lead against FFA Centre of Excellence.
Goals from Kristian Brymora and Braedyn Crowley had Jets Youth ahead at the break, however a hat trick from Nicholas Panetta midway through the second stanza gave Tony Vidmar’s team the lead.
Crowley levelled the match again deep into time added on at the end of the second half, but there was still time for a winner from FFA COE after Jamie Dimitroff converted from the penalty spot after Jets Youth defender Tom Whiteside was ruled to have handled the ball in the box.
Jets Youth have a bye in round 3 of the Foxtel National Youth League, and will host Central Coast Mariners Youth in their next game in the competition.
The junior Jets will take on the mini Mariners on Sunday 29 November 2015 at Magic Park in Broadmeadow. Kick-off is at 10:00am.
