Westfield Matildas stars Kyah Simon and Lydia Williams are set to hit the silver screen once again.
The 2012 documentary No Apologies – a film detailing both players rise to the national team as proud indigenous Australians – will be screened on Sunday 25 October at 2.30pm at Sydney’s Palace Theatre in Leichhardt.
No Apologies will screen as a double-feature along with Tim Cahill: The Unseen Journey (Director’s Cut).
The screening is part of the inaugural edition of the Football Film Festival – footballfilmfestival.org – with further events taking place in Brisbane and Melbourne over the coming fortnight.
The acclaimed documentary charts the players’ experiences growing up on different sides of the country – Williams in country Western Australia and Simon in suburban Sydney.
Both players recently starred for Australia at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, having done likewise at German 2011 where Simon became the first male or female indigenous Australian to score a goal at a FIFA World Cup.
