Football Federation Australia (FFA) today released the names of the match officials that will officiate in the upcoming Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League competitions.
Wilson Brown, James Cleal and Kearney Robinson have been appointed to the Hyundai A-League Assistant Referees List for the first time with Stephen Toth and Simon Lount and reappointed to the Hyundai A-League Assistant Referees List after absences of one and two seasons respectively.
Trent Nash receives his first appointment as a Hyundai A-League 4th Official along with Jonathan Barreiro who has made the transition after being a Hyundai A-League Assistant Referees for the past 3 seasons.
In the Westfield W-League, Danielle Anderson, Isabella Blaess and Sarah Wikeley receive their first appointments as Assistant Referees and Laura Moya returns to the competition after one-year officiating in Chile.
Maddison Kennedy will also make the transition from Assistant Referee to 4th official in the Westfield W-League 2015/16 Season.
FFA Director of Referees Ben Wilson is excited by the panels that have been selected for the upcoming competitions.
“It has been a long process to select the match officials for the Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League competitions.
“There is plenty of experience in the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League with 24 match officials holding current FIFA badges.
“I am confident that the match officials selected will perform admirably for the upcoming seasons,” concluded Wilson.
The annual Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League referees workshop will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra next weekend with the match officials completing their fitness tests and attending lectures regarding the latest developments in refereeing.
It is expected that the three full-time professional Hyundai A-League referees will be announced later this month.
