Former Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory player Kaz Patafta is hoping to resurrect his international career with South East Asian minnows Laos.
Patafta, once on the books of Portuguese giants Benfica, is playing with Lao Premier League side Lanexang United FC in the hope of cracking his first senior cap.

And if the 26-year-old’s dream becomes reality will end up playing in a World Cup qualifying group which includes Korea Republic.
Patafta played almost 50 times in the Hyundai A-League with stints at Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets.
He almost became a Socceroo in 2006 when called into a pre-Germany 2006 World Cup squad under then coach Guus Hiddink.
Patafta is a former Australian U-17 international.
Laos is ranked 178 in the world.
