Wanderers hopeful wild weather won’t derail ACL clash

Western Sydney Wanderers FC are confident Sydney’s wild weather over the last 24 hours and an in-form opponent won’t derail their ACL title defence tonight.

Wild weather and driving rain has marred the build-up to the clash against Kashima Antlers at Parramatta Stadium, with the big wet set to stick around until kick-off.

There will be a pitch inspection on Tuesday morning which will give an indication if the new drainage system and pitch at Parramatta will be fit for play.

“We hope [the match] won’t get called off,” Popovic told reporters at the official pre-match press conference.
