Sydney Derby is sold out!

After twice breaching the 40,000 attendance mark last season, the first Sydney Derby for the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season has again sold out.

The Sky Blues broke their Membership record with over 11,000 Members signing up for this season and it is expected that the crowd will go close to eclipsing the highest figure for any code at Allianz Stadium in recent seasons.

Sydney FC are in search of their second consecutive victory over the Wanderers after triumphing 3-1 the last time the two sides met at Allianz Stadium back in March.

Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata expressed his delight at selling out the Derby and believes the Sky Blues are on track to achieve something special on Saturday night.

“I’m extremely pleased we’ve been able to put the sold out signs up today,” he said.

“It just goes to show the impact Sydney FC has on football in this country that we can welcome 40,000 crowds for games at our home ground and I’m looking forward to what should be a great spectacle on Saturday night.

“Nothing is better than seeing Allianz Stadium bathed in Sky Blue and I’m sure that with the full support of the Members and fans behind the players, they can put on a performance to be proud of.”

Sky Blues Head Coach Graham Arnold said he cannot wait to step out at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night for his inaugural Sydney Derby and is looking forward to coaching in front of a bumper crowd.

“I’ve always said Allianz Stadium is one of the best stadiums in the country and I cannot wait to see it full to capacity on Saturday,” he said.

Gates open at 5:30pm on Saturday for a 7:30pm kick off. To ensure you don’t miss a moment of action, arrive early to avoid the queues.

A-League fantasy.
