The Newcastle Jets Women have announced three international players ahead of the Westfield W-League season opener against reigning champions, Melbourne Victory.
Tori Huster (Washington Spirit) and Angela Salem (Western New York Flash) return to the line-up following playing season 2012.13 with the Newcastle Jets. Additionally, Salem’s Flash teammate Katherine Reynolds has joined the squad and will make her WWL debut this weekend.
The players arrived in Australia across the weekend and were introduced to Australian fauna at a private koala encounter at Newcastle’s Blackbutt Reserve.
The Newcastle Jets Women commence their 2014 WWL campaign on this Saturday, 13th September when the side comes up against reigning champions Melbourne Victory and former Newcastle Jets captain Gema Simon and vice-captain Hannah Brewer. The Round 1 fixture will kick off at 11am on Saturday at Magic Park, Broadmeadow.
