Central Coast has added powerful Senegalese international Malick Mané to their strikeforce for the upcoming Hyundai A-League season.
The Mariners have secured the 25-year-old on a season-long loan deal from Swedish club IFK Göteborg.
“We’ve been looking for dynamic, attacking players during our recruitment process and Malick certainly possess the attributes we’ve been looking for,” Moss said.
“He’s a very powerful player, he’s pacey, he’s good in one on one situations, and he’s a natural finisher, so we’re delighted to have finalised his loan move.”
After taking their time to add new international players to their roster in the off-season, Moss hinted the club may have another attacking recruit announced in coming days.
Mane fits the bill for the Mariners, a powerfully built frontman with loads of pace, which lead to a call-up to the Senegal national team in 2012.
“My attributes are that I work hard for the team, and try and do everything for the team – especially scoring goals,” Mané said from Sweden.
“(Alessandro) Del Piero played in Australia, so I am happy to play my football there. I have read that Central Coast Mariners are a very good team, so I will be happy to represent the club.”
Mane started his career with local Senegalese side Casa Sports and has also played for Sogndal Fotball (Norway), FK Aktobe (Kazakhstan), Sandefjord Fotball (Norway).
