Guangzhou Evergrande is the glamour club of Asia.

Having won the Chinese Super League by 18 points and defeating FC Seoul in the 2013 AFC Champions League Final, they followed that with a semi-final appearance in the FIFA Club World Cup, losing to eventual Champions Bayern Munich.

Building on from 2013 Guangzhou Evergrande are again top of the Chinese Super League.

Despite dominance in China and progressing through to the Quarter Final it hasn-t all been smooth sailing for Guangzhou Evergrande with recent weeks bringing to light an uncharacteristic slump in form.

In the past month across all competitions they-ve dropped 10 points while their performance in the Group Stage of the Champions League (drawing one and losing two) saw them having to fight hard before sealing top spot.

While there are potential signs of weakness, Guangzhou sent an ominous warning to all rivals when they pulled off a 5-0 away win in the Round of 16 tie against Cerezo Osaka for a 5-1 aggregate victory.
