The Hyundai A-League and new FFA Cup tournament will be beamed across the subcontinent from next season in a huge boon for Australian football.

One of India’s largest sports broadcasters – Ten Sports – has secured the rights to both competitions for the next three years.

As part of the deal the network will broadcast a minimum of 86 of the 140 matches of the A-League season, as well as at least 10 games from the FFA Cup.

The deal means the A-League and FFA Cup will be broadcast into nations like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The exciting news comes on the back of Sunday’s A-League deciding smashing all records, becoming the most watched club match in the history of Australian football.

The Brisbane Roar-Western Sydney Wanderers thriller went live into 57 countries including Italy, the UK, Ireland, USA, China, Singapore, Mexico and South Africa.

FFA has an agreement with World Sport Group (WSG) to market the worldwide broadcast and digital rights for the Hyundai A-League until the end of the 2016/17 season.
