Sydney United 58 FC-s red hot striker Mirjan Pavlovic has loved every minute of the new NPL Finals Series.
Why you ask?
Simple, the flamboyant attacker has scored four goals in the Reds- two NPL matches in Sydney and Brisbane, with the latter match bagging a hat-trick which ultimately sent the club to the inaugural 2013 NPL Final against Tasmanian Premiers South Hobart FC.
“It-s always a great feeling winning matches with your team mates and last weekend was no different.
“It was extra special as the incentive was making the final, it was a tough match but we came through it and now find ourselves in the big one.
“Looking forward to this Sunday-s match we are treating it like any other game.
“We don-t know too much about them but we don-t care who our opposition are, we are Sydney United 58 FC and we will do whatever it takes to win this.”
The former Wellington Phoenix and Newcastle Jets striker has heralded the NPL crown high on his radar and hopes that the club can lift the trophy come Sunday afternoon in Tasmania.
“The NPL crown means a lot to me.
“It-s great knowing we have made the NPL Final as we were disappointed with how we ended our year this season being knocked out in the semi-finals after claiming the IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 Premiership.
“The NPL Final gives us a chance to put this disappointment to bed and we-d love nothing more than to win this for the club and for our loyal fans.”
With the NPL Finals Series format in full effect, Pavlovic pushed the notion that this tournament has been a breath of fresh air for the game.
“It is certainly a great start for football in this country as it-s a perfect chance for the younger players to be seen by the various Hyundai A-League clubs.
“I feel as though we don-t play enough games here in Australia and our off-season is far too long so adding the NPL Finals Series certainly adds more fixtures to the list which I like.”
One person that has gotten the best out of Pavlovic has been head coach Mark Rudan whom Mirjan believes has been one of the best managers he-s ever had in his entire football career.
“Mark has been great.
“The truth is I feel like I have learnt more under him then I did from my previous two Hyundai A-League coaches.
