Melbourne Heart have confirmed former Head Coach John van-t Schip has returned to the Club in the newly appointed role of Technical Manager for the 2013-14 Hyundai A-League season.
Van-t Schip, who was in charge of Melbourne Heart in the Red and White-s first two A-League seasons, will provide coaching support to the Club-s Hyundai A-League and National Youth League sides.
In addition, van-t Schip returns as part of a broader engagement that Melbourne Heart will have with Cruyff Football, tapping into Cruyff Football-s extensive experience in building world renowned youth development programs.
Melbourne Heart and van-t Schip will work closely to develop a multi-tiered junior talent pathway program alongside Cruyff Football – established by Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, who was an integral figure in building the youth structures at Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona.
Van-t Schip will be based in Melbourne for the majority of the 2013-14 Hyundai A-League season and Melbourne Heart CEO Scott Munn believes the partnership will take the football club to the next level.
“It-s fantastic to have John-s expertise back to support the entire organisation,” Munn said.
“Establishing a world class talent pipeline is fundamental to Melbourne Heart-s long term vision and, more broadly, these types of initiatives are vital to Australia-s long-term competitiveness within Asia.”
