Frank Farina’s rebuild at Sydney FC continues to take shape with confirmation Nick Carle will return to the club next season.

Carle spent the last campaign playing in the United Arab Emirates Pro League with Bani Yas after agreeing to a lucrative 12-month loan deal.

But the 31-year-old midfielder will return to the Sky Blues for next season and has also agreed to an extra one-year extension.

“I’m really happy to be coming back to Sydney FC,” Carle said.

“I enjoyed my experience in Abu Dhabi with Bani Yas but Sydney is home and I want to finish my career with Sydney FC.

“I’m looking forward to getting back to Sydney FC, working with Frank Farina and doing my best for the club.

“I’ve spoken to a few of the players and there’s a real determination to get stuck into pre season training and make sure we’re ready for the start of the season to improve on what was a disappointing season for the club last year.”

Carle has spent two seasons with the Sky Blues and scored seven goals in 42 appearances.

His creativity will be a huge bonus for the Sky Blues and his partnership with the likes of Alessandro Del Piero and Joel Griffiths is sure to excite Sky Blues fans.

“It’s great news that Nick has confirmed he’s coming back to Sydney FC,” Farina said.

“I have been planning for the (2013/14) season thinking he would be in the squad but to have it confirmed is a positive. He’s a quality player and adds a lot to our attack.”

Carle will complete the current season with Bani Yas before linking up with the Sky Blues when they start pre-season on June 19.

The club are hopeful he will be right to go for their friendly in Japan against Sagan Tosu on 24 July.
