Perth defender Josh Risdon has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2015/16 Hyundai A-League season.
“I-m very excited to stay at the club for another three years,” Risdon said.
“As a West Australian you always want to play in front of your home town when you first start out your career.
“It-s an exciting time to be involved with Perth Glory and Alistair Edwards is doing a great job bringing youth into the first team.”
Risdon, 20 years-old, has played 55 games for Perth Glory and scored one stunning goal, the winner against Melbourne Victory just 11 days ago.
“It-s a brilliant signing for Perth Glory,” Edwards said.
“Signing players like Josh is the future and the direction of the club and it-s also part of our strategy moving forward.
“It-s important we secure the services of key players like Josh, who just happen to be WA born and bred.
Born and raised in the South Western town of Bunbury, Risdon is a product of the NTC program and Perth Glory-s Youth development team under Gareth Naven.
“First and foremost he-s got great character, he-s been through all the development pathways here, he-s a shining example to everyone in the State that through continuous hard work you can reach the top.
“He-s one of the first names on the team sheet now and he epitomises what Perth Glory is all about.
“Not only because of his football ability but it-s also his never-say-die attitude and wanting success for the club,” Edwards said.
