Sell, sell, sell because Roar’s value is sinking

The Scout’s a bit grumpy this week. Perhaps because he bet all his fantasy dough on Brisbane Roar…

Here-s what the signing of Jade North is going to do for the Roar… nothing.

Never has The Scout seen a rabble like this current Roar side, and Mike Mulvey can say it-s teething problems all he wants, but “let me drop some knowledge on you”, as my uncle used to say – Brisbane have been terrible all year.

Last week I wrote it might be time for Besart Berisha to shine and while he has been the Roar-s best, he has been the best of a bad bunch. I think I had a brain snap when writing that.

Somehow that Jets v Roar match sucked any joy whatsoever out of football, unless you-re a desperate Jets fan clinging to the hopes that they might come good.

So where is this rant going? It-s simple really, if you have been clinging on to the hope that the Roar will get better and your whimpering Roar fantasy stars will pick up some points give up on them… NOW!

Brisbane are that bad relationship you think you want to get back into, because surely it wasn-t that bad, then when you get there you realise it was the worst decision you ever made and you-re drained.

Add to that the fact they face the Wanderers, Perth away and then the Mariners over the next three weeks and it-s hard to see too many bonus “winners” points coming their way, so dump their players now before you lose more money.

Buy: Jason Culina – $195,000 The former Qantas Socceroo is getting better and better each week and we reckon he was Sydney-s best against the Heart. Of course that simply means he was competent, but his passing is looking crisp and he-s starting to float forward and looking menacing on the ball. Ever so slightly Sydney are improving, Culina is a big reason and there could be some fantasy points to come.

Sell: Ben Halloran – $200,800 I like Halloran, I just don-t like the Roar and even under Mike Mulvey he may not flourish in this side. 200k for a player who hasn-t shown his best in a slumping side just screams sell,s ell, sell. I suggest you go it now and cash in on a very small gain before it turns into a loss.

Team of the Week: The highest scoring, cheapest team in a valid formation; it may not actually be possible to select this team.
Formation 3-5-2 | Total Score = 252

Mark Birighitti (NJ 14), Nikolai Topor-Stanley (WSW 26), Craig Goodwin (NJ 16), Sam Gallaway (NJ 14), Iain Ramsay (AU 18), Marcos Flores (MV 18), Brett Emerton (SFC 18), Aaron Mooy (WSW 18), James Brown (NJ 18), Jeronimo Neumann (c) (AU 56), Labinot Haliti (WSW 18)

Finally we offer our congratulations to Scott, who manages Late for Dinner. We-re guessing he was late for dinner on Friday thanks to putting together a blistering team, who scored 180 points in a tough week, thanks to a heavy influence from the in-form Wanderers. Scott gets a $100 VISA Moneycard for his troubles.

As for the race for the overall title we reckon the leaders should be keeping an eye out for Ziggy FC, who have been charging in recent weeks and are now in the top 10.
