Wanderers FC coach Tony Popovic admits there is a lot to be done ahead of the new club’s Hyundai A-League debut but says he’s happy where his squad is at at the moment.

Wanderers unveiled their two latest signings, in Croatian pair Dino Kresinger and Mateo Poljak, on Monday, and Popovic believes the squad is being pieced together nicely.

“Progress is slow but we-re going step by step,” he said. “We-ll integrate the new players as they sign but overall I-m happy with the progress.

“There is no real time limit on it but we hope to have a few more added by the end of August, we-re looking at a number of people and if they come off it will definitely be a bonus,” he added.

Popovic this week added his first two foreign imports to the squad, Dino Kresinger and Mateo Poljak, and said it will take to for them to adjust.

“They are both obviously professional players but they have travelled a long way so we-ve eased them into this week and given them time to adjust, but over the next few weeks we will raise their training load and get them up to speed with the rest of the squad.”
