Wanderers FC have secured their second win in as many trial matches, defeating Blacktown Spartans.
The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers have maintained their unbeaten run with a 2-nil victory over the Blacktown Spartans FC in front of 4,116 fans at Blacktown International Sportspark.
The opening half was full of end to end football with Wanderers FC doing their best to go through Spartans FC with a number of opportunities being provided both through the middle and out wide.
Aaron Mooy was busy through the centre of the park looking to provide for Mark Bridge and Jason Trifiro. Tarek Elrich worked hard down the right flank sending the ball into the attacking area on a number of occasions.
As the sides went to the half-time break scores were locked at nil all, and Wanderers coach Tony Popovic made a number of changes to his side.
With both teams finding their feet to start the second half the match continued in much the same fashion as the first.
Goals came in the 59th and 65th minute with Mark Bridge netting his first goal in Wanderers colours with Ricky Zucco claiming the second.
Mooy, who controlled the middle of the park in the first half was happy with the effort from the squad.
“We got a victory which is the main thing but more importantly we are continuing to work on our combinations which is our main goal throughout the pre-season,” he said.
“We-ve been working hard and will continue to, so it-s pleasing to see that we are taking it out on to the pitch,” he added.
