Adelaide United are searching for more new talent trialling
American Dexter Rosales and Sydney based Portuguese forward Fabio Ferreira have agreed to train with the Reds, giving John Kosmina a chance to have a first hand look at what they have to offer.
“Their pedigree is good and we-ve got to cast the net far and wide, so they-ll come here on trial and we-ll have a look at them,” Kosmina said.
Kosmina has stated he would not rush into making any hasty decisions in relation to new signings, with the arrival of Rosales and Ferreira a sign that the Reds football department is continuing to actively explore possible options.
An attacking midfielder from Miami Florida, Rosales has represented his country at U-17, U-20 and U-23 level, his career to date including stints at Club Atletico Junior, Valencia and Dutch heavyweights AFC Ajax.
The 25 year olds progress was interrupted by a ruptured achilles late last year but after successful surgery, he will be determined to prove his best football is still in front of him.
Born in the Portuguese town of Barreiro, 23 year old Ferreira-s talent was discovered early on as he joined Sporting Club de Portugal-s youth system at the age of 14 before heading to reigning UEFA Champions League and FA Cup titleholders Chelsea two years later, a move that saw him make 12 appearances and score eight goals for the Blues- reserves side.
After returning to Portugal, Ferreira came out to Australia early this year to play with New South Wales Super League club Dulwich City.
At this stage, Adelaide United is hopeful that the duo will arrive in time to join the rest of the Reds squad for the start of their pre season training camp in Strathalbyn on Monday.
