Hamill heading to Seongnam

Melbourne Heart have agreed to terms with South Korean club Seongnam Ilhwa for defender Brendan Hamill.

Melbourne Heart have agreed to terms with South Korean club Seongnam Ilhwa for defender Brendan Hamill.

Hamill, 20, was one of the inaugural members of the Heart squad, linking up with the side in early 2010 following a successful stint at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Making an immediate impression at Hyundai A-League level, Hamill demonstrated a maturity and poise which belied his age, featuring on 34 occasions for the young Melbourne club.

Hamill could be seen as a direct replacement for Qantas Socceroos defender Sasa Ognenovski, who recently left the club to head to Qatari club Umm Salal.
