After Tweeting about considering his future it appears Qantas Socceroos veteran Scott Chipperfield may be ready to play in the A-League.
Qantas Socceroos veteran Scott Chipperfield has garnered the interest of plenty of Hyundai A-League clubs but now it seems he might be ready to end his European odyssey and return home.
The Wollongong-born winger indicating via Twitter that he was considering his options for his next career move and that the A-League would certainly present a new challenge.
Chipperfield is adamant he is not interested in a final big pay-day, which means he is prepared to be included in the club salary cap and not command the sort of money offered to marquee signings.
“One thing is clear . . . I’m not a big money signing or saviour to a club. I will help with younger players & hopefully we will be successful,” Chipperfield tweeted.
If he does return home the club-s who are rumoured to be chasing his services are Melbourne Heart, Sydney FC and the new Sydney club, the signing of Chipperfield would be a huge one for any of those clubs.
The biggest question though is whether or not Chipperfield would really leave FC Basel where he is held in high regard after having won seven championships and six cups with the Swiss club.
