Ian Ferguson has signed a new two-year deal to remain as coach of Perth Glory until the end of 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.
Ferguson was known to be under pressure to prove himself this season, with Glory owner Tony Sage repedtly setting a minimum target of reaching the finals.
And despite an inconsistent first-half of the season, Glory have come good towards the end of term to secure the club’s highest-place finish in the competition, and a home final berth.
“It-s fantastic to have Ian on board for another two years,” Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly said.
“Ian deserves great credit for guiding Perth Glory to our best season in the Hyundai A-League and into our first home final.
“It now gives us stability to build towards the future and have a good run at the championship.”
Having coached Perth Glory to third spot in his first full season in charge, Ferguson was excited to be given the opportunity to continue his reign.
“I am delighted to get the opportunity to take the club forward for another two years, Ferguson said.
“It gives us the chance to continue to build on what we have done so far this season.”
