Central Coast Mariners have all but claimed the National Youth League, thanks to the Glory slipping up at home to Brisbane Roar.
Central Coast Mariners have virtually claimed the National Youth League title and only an act of God could stop them from lifting the trophy, after the Glory crashed to a 4-2 loss against Brisbane Roar.
The result means the Mariners are three points clear at the top of the table and they can only let the title slip if they lose in the final round and the Glory win while also completing a massive goal difference turnaround of 19.
Of course that would be completely unrealistic, despite the fact the Glory are playing last-placed Victory in the final round of action.
The title win means the Mariners could claim the NYL and also lift the Hyundai A-League Premier’s Plate in the same year, if their top team can arrest their current slide and hold off the fast-finishing Brisbane Roar.
Just like in the A-League the Mariners have built their record of 17 matches for 11 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses on the back of some stellar defcne, conceding just 16 goals throughout the year.
