Football Federation Australia (FFA) has determined that Brisbane Roar Player, Besart Berisha has breached the National Code of Conduct (Code) for his actions at the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 Week 15 match between Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC.
Football Federation Australia (FFA) has determined that Brisbane Roar Player, Besart Berisha has breached the National Code of Conduct (Code) for his actions at the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 Week 15 match between Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC.
Specifically, the Player has been found to be in breach of the following provisions of the Code;
• Clause 2.2(c): ”offensive behavior, including offensive, obscene, provocative or insulting gestures, language or chanting;”
• Clause 2.2(d): ”provocation or incitement of hatred or violence;”
• Clause 6.1(a), “… a Professional Player must … at all times behave in a manner that promotes and upholds the highest standards of integrity, dignity and professionalism.”
FFA has determined that the following sanction shall be applicable:
A one (1) match suspension plus a one (1) match suspended sanction. This one (1) match suspended sanction shall only be triggered in the event that the Player is found to have committed a further breach of the Code prior to the end of the Hyundai A-League season, including finals.
Brisbane Roar has been given seven business days to appeal.
