Go for Glory this Friday as Perth seek revenge on the side that halted their early-season winning run!

There are few gifts that Glory and Mariners fans would like from Santa more than three points on Friday night!

Perth would love to pick up the win in order to bring them closer to the Central Coast on the ladder, while Mariners have their eyes firmly on Brisbane Roar’s crown. It’s set to be an enthralling battle at nib Stadium, so why be anywhere else? Get your ticket today and watch these teams take each other on for the victory!

Every season has a few turning points, and Perth Glory will look at the meeting of these sides in Week Four as one. When they took to the field at Bluetongue Stadium, the men from Western Australia were brimming with confidence. They had, after all, gained maximum points from their opening three games of the campaign and were looking very good for an assault on Brisbane’s crown.

They were taking on a Central Coast Mariners side that had yet to win a game and had shown little of the form they had displayed in an incredible Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season.

Surely, after Travis Dodd had given his new team the lead with pretty much Perth’s first attack of the game, it would be four from four for the visitors? It turned out not to be the case, as this was the game in which Central Coast Mariners got their groove back, and Glory were eventually subjected to a 2-1 defeat.

Despite the loss, Perth played well and were unlucky not to have grabbed a draw after a really strong second half showing. Since that day though, their form has been patchy, so they will be looking to give their season a boost with three points on Friday night.

That game also proved pivotal for Central Coast Mariners. After picking up their first win of the season – with goals from teenage striker Bernie Ibini-Isei and Matt Simon, they have hardly looked back, shooting up the ladder and playing with confidence in the extreme.

They will go into this matchup with Glory with the firm belief they can do the double over their cross country rivals. Indeed, history also suggests the Mariners will come out of this pre-Christmas tussle at nib Stadium with something to shout about.

In 19 meetings between the teams, the visitors have won a dozen times and have been undefeated in seven of their nine trips west. But Glory will perhaps be boosted by the fact that the couple of occasions they have overcome their NSW rivals have both come at home.

Which way will this match-up go? Will Perth make it a very Merry Christmas for The Shed? Can Mariners do the double over their hosts? Whatever occurs, this mouthwatering fixture is not to be missed. So get along to nib Stadium on Friday night and be a part of outstanding Hyundai A-League action!
