The Westfield W-League Week 6 match between Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory scheduled for Saturday 26 November 3pm at Adamstown Oval has been postponed due to wet weather.
Given the heavy rainfall this week, a number of venues in the area are unsuitable for play.
A revised date for this match is yet to be confirmed, but Perth Glory is working closely with Football Federation Australia (FFA) and hopes to find out the postponed match details in the near future.
Perth Glory captain Tanya Oxtoby understands that the FFA-s decision was not taken lightly as the safety of the players is paramount.
“The girls are obviously pretty disappointed that the game won-t be going ahead this weekend due to the extreme weather impacting on the playing venue,” she said.
“After what was a bitterly disappointing effort at home against Brisbane last week, we had really set ourselves to have a hard week at training and get back out there against Newcastle and have a better performance.
“Everything that could have possibly gone wrong this season has so far and this is just another one of those things that we need to turn into a positive and regroup for a more ‘purpleswag- like effort against Sydney next week.”
Perth Glory will enjoy the weekend off before another hard week on the track ahead of their next match on Saturday 3 December at Leichhardt Oval.
