Yellow Army, your support can help the mighty Mariners claim Victory as they aim for three wins on the spin!

While they have still to find their best form, the Mariners are flying at the moment. After back-to-back wins, their season is finally up and running and, as they look to continue their march up the table, you should get yourself along to the Bluetongue and cheer your boys onto a hat-trick of wins.

Graham Arnold’s men head into this Saturday’s game in high spirits following a fine display at one of the toughest places to visit in the Hyundai A-League.

They hopped back over the ditch with all three points following a triumph over Wellington Phoenix last weekend after strike duo Matt Simon and Bernie Ibini-Isei got the goals that gave the Yellow & Navy a 2-1 victory at Westpac Stadium.

After a scoreless first period, the game burst into life with Ibini-Isei’s strike and, just as the match looked to be heading for a draw after Chris Greenacre equalised, Simon perfectly positioned a low shot past Tony Warner with ten minutes to go to claim all three points.

The win followed a fine result at home to Perth a week earlier, and the Yellow Army will be there in numbers hoping for a third 2-1 win on the bounce this Saturday night. Be a part of the drama!

However, this will be an extremely tough encounter for the home side, as they take on a team that showed a huge amount of passion and commitment last week to secure a 2-2 draw against Brisbane Roar.

Not only is that a good result in itself, but they did so with just nine men for the final 53 minutes. Victory had goalkeeper Ante Covic sent off in the very first minute and then also lost young defender Matthew Foschini before half-time but, still managed to be the first team to take a point from the Champions this season.

It couldn’t have been a worse start for Victory, as Covic was shown red and then the resulting penalty was buried by Henrique, but they showed spirit to hit back through ever-deadly frontman Archie Thompson. He struck again minutes later with his third in two games to send the large and passionate home crowd wild, before Thomas Broich levelled for the visitors.

Foschini’s red soon after should surely have been curtains from the home side, but they defended brilliantly from front to back to ensure a share of the spoils.

As two in-form sides go head to head at The Bluetongue on Saturday, this one is sure to be an absolute cracker. Melbourne are always well-supported wherever they go, so, Yellow Army, you need to make sure you are in your best voice.

Can the Central Coast make it three on the spin, or will the visitors get their second away victory in a row? It’s going to be epic. Do not miss it!
