I hope the Newcastle crowd enjoyed seeing Tiago Calvano for the first time. Tiago was very impressive during the win and has shown he has so much to offer on and off the field.

It was great seeing young local players like James Virgili being given the chance to impress Branko.

I want to thank Lake Macquarie Football Club for coming to our rescue and providing us with a venue at such a short notice.

I also want to thank Broadmeadow Magic for the game.

We are undefeated after five matches and next week-s game against Melbourne Heart in Gippsland will be a huge test for the team.

The success of our juniors continued this week with the news that Andrew Hoole and Luke Remington were selected in the U19-s Australian touring squad. I am so excited about all the young talent we have in our squad and it is great that Andrew and Luke have been presented with this opportunity.

Ben Kantarovski has returned from overseas. Welcome back Ben, I am looking forward to seeing you back on the field for the Jets.

I am also looking forward to seeing our entire coaching staff including, Branko Culina, Craig Deans and Clayton Zane working closely together this season. It is very important to me that we have the staff of all three teams working together and going forward this will be part of the culture of the Club.

Our Membership drive is going strongly but we still have a long way to go until we hit the 10,000 mark. If you haven-t already secured your membership, make sure you contact the Jets and do so.

As mentioned in a previous column, we are developing a database of young talent in the Northern NSW area. I am still working hard to make sure this all comes together.

On the injury front, Jason Culina and Kasey Wehrman are progressing well in rehab and I know it won-t be long until we see these two back on the pitch.

After seeing the work the Knights do in the community we have started the process of restructuring our community program. I believe this is hugely important to the Club and I can-t wait for the team to be out in the community and making a difference.
