Coach Graham Arnold has urged Central Coast to keep their momentum going when the Mariners battle for a fourth straight win against the Victory in Melbourne on Thursday night.
The Mariners are one of the form teams of the competition, netting nine goals in victories against Perth, North Queensland and Wellington.
All wins have come away from home and Arnold has been delighted with his squad.
He rated Saturday’s 3-0 triumph against the Phoenix as the club’s best 90-minute performance of the season.
Arnold knows Melbourne will be smarting after Sunday night’s lacklustre display against Perth.
“We’ve still got work to do and I’m sure we can play better, but we’re showing good signs,” Arnold said.
“We need to be more ruthless in the front third, that’ll come.”
Arnold is expected to again start with Matt Simon and Daniel McBreen up front with in-form Adam Kwasnik to change things up when he comes off the bench in the second half.
Kwasnik has netted two goals in his past three appearances off the bench and is putting the pressure on for a starting berth.
“Kwas has been coming off the bench with a great attitude, he’s well and truly in the mix at the moment.”
“He’s gives us something different than Simon and McBreen.”
